Screenwriting Tip of the Day - Sept 14th

"Use an outline."

Outlines feel like a waste of time to some writers, but it's a tool that every writer should come to love. It will force you organize the tempo in brief lines, help to clearly identify plot points, and weave a story that stays focused. So add this vital tool to your toolbox:  use an outline!

Final Draft in outline mode

An outline is a necessary evil, but once you get the hang of it, you'll find the benefits to far outweigh the time invested and brain-strain sustained.

An article will be posted in the coming days with a recommended outline. A Google search has not provided an adequate outline template, so you are encouraged to return and use the suggested format.

Have anything you want to add to this? Then drop a comment in the space below.

NOW GO WRITE (... AN OUTLINE)!
